How to manage Pantai Morib?

Pantai Morib is facing a loss of tourist each year, the cause of this is that Pantai Morib isn't as appealing as it used to be. This beach is named the 'Gold Coast of Malaysia', but it hasn't live up to the name standards. Across the coastline there were many problems that Pantai Morib had face; the erosion of the sea wall and the conrete revetment, rubbish everywhere and the lack of entertainment.

To improve Pantai Morib the beach has to be clean. First of all there were rarely any trash can to be found at the beach, there were rubbsih cans only at the promenade. To fix this litter problem it is strongly suggested to add more rubbish cans on the beach however non-governmental groups or local communities can improve rubbish cans to recycle bins. They can also raise awarness to put up signs or use posters to inform 'no litter' on the beach. The council can improve this by making a fine for anyone who litters on the beach, roads or the promenade. Local groups can also raise awarness by making a clean up program or a clean up event each year or every few months. They also could teach children in schools on how to sustain the beach, school field trips to the beach are encouraged so that the students know what problems that Pantai Morib are facing and help clean the beach. Governments can also consider in hiring cleaners or workers to maintain the  cleanliness of the beach so that more tourist can be attracted to its beauty.

To maintain the sea defences is also a big part to sustain Pantai Morib, as of now the two sea defences in Pantai Morib are worned out and not effective. Pantai Morib has a slight movement of longshore drift, groynes can be useful to stop longshore drift. Governmental groups can also use beach nourishment/sand replenisment to help prevent coastal erosion. The sea wall should maintain as it is however the once the concrete is completely worned out it is more effective to use mostly granite or a mixture of materials instead of concrete so that the sea wall can last longer and be more effective. The revetment is cheap to maintain but it is not effective, many things can ruin the conrete reinforeced revetment. to stop these problems the governement can install a granite revetment on top of the old one to prevent the concrete from eroding and also it is more effective. There was another sea defence made out of construction debris and it is randomly placed next to the revetment. Local communities and groups can evolve the sea defence into a better one by making it in to a groyne or use them to help make a better sea wall.

Pantai Morib has not alot of things occuring there in terms of entertainment, the promenade only sells food and no souveniers. One way to get touris attractions is to add or build more things around the beach. Governments can add more stalls on the promenade, instead of more food stalls souvenier stalls can enlighten the promenade. They can also add recreational activities to the beach so that more people can enjoy their time on the beach; like jet skiing, canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving and etc.

With these solutions it is strongly believed that Pantai Morib could be the 'Gold Coast of Malaysia'. Some of these solutions have come from the coastal management of Australia and so far Australia has nice beaches and alot of people go to the coast for entertainment and also some people even live there. Pantai Morib can again be a nice beach with the solutions above.
