Australia's Coastal Management
The coastal zone is one of the most important resource for tourism in Australia. Australia has a coastal zone that is about 36000km long. As of now 86 percent of Australia's population is around the coast, most of their poplutaion comes from rural areas who had migrated to urban areas that are near the coast.

Collaroy-Narrabeen Beach
One of many beaches in Australia Collaroy-Narrabeen Beach is one of the most vulnerable to coastal erosion. This beach is located in Warringah and is the third most at risk area from coastal processes in Australia.

Warilla Beach
Warilla Beach is located on the south coast of NSW in between Windang Island and Barrack Point inlet. This beach has encoutered severe sand removal in the past decades. It accelerated in the midst due to extreme ocean storms, a sea wall was built right after this incident. Warilla beach has also suffered coastal erosion over many years, houses and infrastructures are at risk.
Issues/Solutions

Removing coastal sand dunes and vegetation has caused a fall of sand from Warilla beach over many years. Properties along the coastline is under threat of erosion. During big waves and high tides the beach can lead to erosion. Hence forth a sea wall made from rocks is built to protect houses.

The beach is undertaken risk of coastal erosion, houses along the coastline are indangered from land slides. The Shellharbour Council have placed around 200,000m3 of sand from Lake Illawarra to restore the beach in front of the sea wall.
